When it comes to the windows in your home, you want the best. Paying the extra money for secure, gorgeous windows is no matter for you, which is why you’re interested in Marvin’s products. For more than 80 years, the Marvin brand has been synonymous with high quality.

Marvin produces windows of all shapes and sizes. Marvin even also makes Coastal glass windows, which are available for those hurricane-prone areas. With so many different options and styles at your disposal, how do you choose the right Marvin windows for your home?

In this article, we will explore that very question. By providing you with information on the various Marvin window product lines, pricing, and warranties, you can make a decision you’ll be happy with for years to come.

What is the difference between the Marvin Ultimate, Integrity and Infinity Series?

There are several Marvin window product lines to choose from. These are differentiated by the materials that comprise the exterior and interior of the windows.

Marvin Infinity Series Guide

The first of the window product lines is the Marvin Infinity series. These windows are made of Ultrex material on the outside and inside. Ultrex is Marvin’s own innovated and patented fiberglass. This fiberglass is pultruded so it can stand up to basic wear and tear much better than glass or traditional fiberglass can. Ultrex material is also no maintenance due to its amazing properties. Outpowering most vinyl windows eight times over, Ultrex glass is one of Marvin’s star products due to its durability.

It is also worth mentioning that this material can outlast stress far better than any composite materials on the market, which combine wood and vinyl fibers to make one material.

If you have wooden windows in your home already, then the Infinity series is a good choice. The Marvin Infinity line mimics wood’s traditional look and feel but they require almost no maintenance. This means that you will no longer have to paint your windows. Not only are these Infinity windows more modernly appealing, but they’re energy-efficient as well.

The masterful Infinity window first begins with Marvin’s patented creation process. They first take glass cables and then saturate them with special resins. These are compounded via diamond-edged blades and heated dice. This results in the Infinity windows many homeowners know and love.

Other great features of the Marvin Infinity series are:

  • A longer life expectancy than your average home window. The Ultrex material is essentially unrivaled by any other window
  • A mechanically-bonded inline acrylic finish that prevents dents, scratches, and discoloration. This finish also has a thickness that’s three times more than what you’d find from other window brands.
  • Retained shape due to the strength of the Ultrex glass.
  • Less glass expansion as the temperatures change, which helps the windows retain their shape and their strength.

Marvin Integrity Series Guide

The next Marvin series on the list is the Integrity series. These windows also feature Ultrex fiberglass on the exterior, however, they are different than the Infinity series on the interior since these use real wood, rather than fiberglass. Remember that not only is Ultrex stronger than vinyl, but it can outlast stress far better than any composite materials on the market, which combine wood and vinyl fibers to make one material.

The interior of the windows is made of the Marvin’s wood, which is referred to as Wood-Ultrex. Whether you want appealing exterior trim or spacious divided lines in your home windows, the design options are nearly endless.

According to Marvin, the Ultrex used in their Integrity windows received verification from the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the first of its kind to do so. All windows in the Marvin Integrity series follow federal guidelines from Energy Star as well. Some varieties in the Integrity series even surpass these guidelines for the best energy efficiency around.

Marvin Ultimate Series Guide

Finally, there is The Marvin Ultimate series is comprised of an aluminum-clad exterior and wood on the interior.

The styles you can choose from include casement windows, double-hung, awnings and picture windows.

The Ultimate Casement windows boast easy-to-use hardware, an exclusive wash feature, and hidden multi-point locks.

Marvin calls these windows the biggest clad/wooden casement windows, not just from the brand themselves, but in general. The Ultimate Casement windows boast rotational hardware so the windows can open inward. This makes cleaning a breeze compared to other casement window brands.

As for the interior finish, you can select from many wood options like white oak, vertical grain Douglas fir, mahogany, traditional Douglas fir, cherry, and pine. These woods can be painted or stained for that perfect look.

If you are worried about the aluminum cladding being too weak, then don’t hesitate. This material passes the 2065 standard of quality excellence from AAMA. All aluminum can be detailed with a PVDF fluoropolymer paint finish, which is available in a slew of beautiful colors.

Full Frame Window Installation vs. Replacement Window Installation

Another consideration to keep in mind as you browse Marvin windows for your home is whether the new windows will be installed full-frame style or insert replacement style.

There are quite a few differences between these two in the installation techniques. You can check them out on our future article.

Luckily for you, in all of Marvin’s window lines, windows are offered in both the full-frame style and insert replacement style as needed.

This is the average cost for Infinity style double-hung windows.

Equally as beloved and quite popular is the Ultimate series. Depending on the type of window you get, the prices vary, says Window Price Guide. For instance, Ultimate Double-Hung windows may cost between $1000 to $1500 with installation included.

Marvin Integrity Series Pricing

The most affordable line of Marvin windows is the Integrity line. These windows are priced around $900 to $1250 with installation included typically for a double-hung window.

Marvin Windows Warranty

According to Marvin’s website, they provide a Limited Warranty on their doors and windows. As of this writing, it’s last been updated on October 29th, 2018. Details about the warranty are viewable as a PDF, which you can see here.

The Marvin Limited Warranty covers most defects, but there are restrictions. You must have received door or window installation in Canada and the United States only. You also must have bought your doors or windows through Marvin’s website or an authorized dealer. You can find a local Marvin dealer on this website for Marvin’s windows.

Something very important to note: the warranty may not be covered if the windows were improperly installed using wrong techniques. This is why it is so important to hire competent installers or a quality window replacement company. Do your research on how to hire a window replacement company.

Here are some other points of note from Marvin’s Limited Warranty:

  • You have 60 days after noticing the damage or defect to invoke your Marvin Limited Warranty.
  • Sensors are protected for two years under the warranty. These sensors must have come from Marvin only or they are not covered.
  • If your windows by chance corroded from substances like chemicals, sand, salt, acid rain, or air pollutants, then the repairs would not be paid for by Marvin.
  • Condensation of any kind, be it caused by fungus, mildew, mold, frost, or humidity, will not be paid for by Marvin.
  • You must have moisture management in your wall systems. If you use synthetic stucco or exterior insulation and finish systems, moisture management may be an issue. Any damage caused by a lack of moisture management is not paid for by Marvin.
  • Your interior wood finishes will be protected for five years under the Limited Warranty. Marvin will contribute to repairs or even provide a replacement if your wood finish has the following issues: color changes, color fading, severe chalking, flaking, blistering, delamination, checking, peeling and cracking.
  • Exterior aluminum cladding is also protected for five years if it has a specialty finish or anodization.
  • Any non-glass window parts get protected for up to 10 years. This includes PVD finishes and stainless steel hardware but does not always include motorized accessories such as electric operators.
  • All glass window parts may be protected for up to 10 years, but it depends. For instance, non-tempered glass is covered over 10 years for stress cracks due to defects in manufacturing. If your glass surfaces are 60 square feet, you could be protected for 10 to 20 years.
